Note | The area of ‘Yang Highlands Wildlife Reserve’, based on the Decree of the Minister of Agrarian Agricultural No. SK / 12 / PA / 1962 dated 5 May 1962 is 14,145 Ha. However, based on the measurement of the boundary arrangement in 1986, the area of 14,177 hectares is reinforced by the Decree of the Minister of Forestry no. 680 / Kpts-II / 1990 dated November 19, 1990. Regional Regulation of East Java Province no. 4 of 1996 on the Spatial Planning of the Province of East Java in 1996 / 1997-2011 / 2012 and the Decree of the Minister of Forestry and Plantation no. 417 / Kpts-II / 1999 dated June 15, 1999 confirmed that the Argopuro region or the Highlands of the Conservation Area. The Highland Yang Wildlife Reserve is located in 4 (four) districts with their respective areas as follows:

Identification | Highland Hyang Wildlife Reserve has several types of ecosystems, among others, as follows: 1). Tropical Rain Forest Ecosystem In this type of ecosystem has tropical forest vegetation, located at an altitude of 1200 – 1900 m above sea level. The composition of vegetation type and structure ranges from bottom plants, shrubs, shrubs, seedlings, saplings and trees. The trees within this area can reach a height of more than 30 meters. The types of vegetation present in this ecosystem include Jamuju (Podocarpus imbricatus), Post (Quercus sp), Sapen (Engelhardia spicata) and Close (Homalanthus sp). 2). Forest Ecosystem Cemara Located at an altitude of 2000-3000 meters above sea level. This type of ecosystem is dominated by pine forest vegetation (Casuarina junghuniana), often called forest coniver because it is dominated by tree needle leaf. The pine forest is a secondary forest that has reached a climax and is able to grow naturally in areas of volcanic ash, landslides, rocky slopes and sandy ravines. On the lower floor is covered by mountain herbs, among others Euphorbia javanica, Poligonum chinense, Pteridium and Elsholzia Pubescens. 3). Savana ecosystem This type of savanna ecosystem occurs due to continuous forest destruction caused by fire. This ecosystem is located in the large square of Sikasur, small square, and the bell square. The dominant species include Imperata cylindrica, Pennisetum alopecurodies, Euphorbia sp and Pteridium sp. 4). Swamp / Lake Ecosystem The marsh or lake ecosystem in the area is mainly concentrated around Lake Taman Hidup and Danau Tunjung dominated by herbaceous species, including: Alchemilla villosa, Eriocaulon sollyanum, Rynchospora rungosa, Carex sp, Cyperus flairdus, Oeennantjhe javanica and Scirpus spp. more search required …? |
