Identification | The temporary identification at Lake Towuti has 7 species of endemic plants. Syamsiah et al. from Makassar State University has identified 3 types of betel nut plants (Hydriastele) that fall into the endemic category. H.C. Hopkins states that Weinmannia devogelii H.C. Hopkins is an endemic plant of Lake Matano. Among these are Alinge (Cinamomum SPP), Betao (Calophyllum soullatrii), Agatis, Belulang, Chinese-Chinese, Jambu (Euginia shoots red, brown, and purple), Meranti, Dengen, and others. more search required …? |

One of the interesting species is the butini fish (Glossogobius matanensis) that live at the bottom of the lake. Opudi Fish (Telmatherina celebensis) is one of the ornamental fish traded domestically and abroad. The trademarks of this fish are Celebes Rainbow Fish or Celebes Sail Fish.
