Identification | Flora that grows in this region part of the original species and partly comes from abroad. Generally consists of trees originating with a diameter of more than 1 meter, such as the type of sono flowers (Dalbergia latifolia) Angsana (Pterococarpus indicus) and glands (Samanea saman). There is also a kind of plant palam and pinang. In addition there are also vines that propagate like Philodendron sp. The existence of this plant due to the amount of rainfall is quite high (estimated between 3,000 to 4,000 mm / year).While the under ground or ground cover that is used as pemabatas path is generally dominated by Anthurium type of family Araceae. In the area of Sibolangit Park is also found one of the plants that are classified as rare (grow every 5 years) and has its own attraction is the Flower Carcass (Amorphophallus titanum).
Orchid Species: Orchid found in Sibolangit natural park there are 4 types: Corymborkis veratrifolia (terrestrial), Newiedia zollingeri (terrestrial), Liparis wrayi (terrestrial), Pomatocalpa latifolia (epiphytes). The most dominant types of land orchids in Sibolangit Nature Park are Corymborkis veratrifolia and Neuwieia zollingeri. Meanwhile, only two species of epiphytic orchids are found in the Sibolangit nature park, Pomatocalpa latifolia dsn Coelogyne rochussenili (only 2 individuals). But in the gardens of the inhabitants especially in the durian garden many epiphytic orchids include Coelogyne rochussenili (in durian tree), Agrostophyllum sp. (in durian trees), Acriopsis javanica (in palm trees), Cymbidium finlaysonianum (in durian trees), Vanda sp., Kingidium deliciosum (in sempur / Dilenia indica), Thelasis carinata and Bulbophyllum sp. (in the durian tree). The epiphytic orchid with a large population is Coelogyne rochussenil. The flowers grow dangling hanging down, the color pale yellow with brownish variations on the lips of flowers. Another type that is also dominant is Agrostophyllum sp. and Bulbophyllum sp. which is generally attached to the durian tree. While the only epiphytic orchid found growing in a nature reserve is the Flickingeria convexa, which is attached to the bark of dead trees. more search required …? |
