Note | In 1976, the Minister of Agriculture appointed Mount Watumohai Watershed with an area of 50,000 ha. In 1985, the Minister of Forestry appointed Rawa Aopa Wildlife Reserve with an area of 55,560 Ha. In 1990, the Minister of Forestry appointed the Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park with an area of 105,605 ha. This national park was set in 2002, with a total area of 1.39 million ha, involving marine biodiversity, scale and coral conditions; which occupies one of the highest priority positions of marine conservation in Indonesia. Water depth in this national park varies, the deepest reaches 1,044 meters below sea level. |

Identification | Bird: recorded 155 species of birds are in it, 32 of which are classified as rare and 37 species are classified as endemic. The birds include maleo (Macrocephalon maleo), heron sticks (Leptoptilos javanicus), clover lawn cie (Ciconia episcopus episcopus), white shrimp king prince (Halcyon chloris chloris), large white cockatoo (Cacatua galerita triton), eagle (Accipiter rhodogaster rhodogaster), Sulawesi black pigeon (Turacoena manadensis), and golden maize (Caloena nicobarica). There is one species of endemic bird in Southeast Sulawesi, Sulawesi goggles (Zosterops consobrinorum). The bird has not been seen for decades, but it is currently seen in Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park … Primates: tangkasi / podi (Tarsius spectrum spectrum) and black monkey (Macaca nigra nigra)… Mammals: Other rare and protected animals such as lowland anoa (Bubalus depressicornis), mountain anoa (B. quarlesi), soa-soa (Hydrosaurus amboinensis), dwarf cuscus (Strigocuscus celebensis celebensis), deer (Cervus timorensis djonga), babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis), and the Sulawesi weasel (Macrogalidia musschenbroekii musschenbroekii) … more search required …? |
