Identification | Vegetation in Halimun Mountain National Park has similarities with vegetation in South Sumatra. The ecosystem type consists of Sub Montana (1000-1500 m) and Montana (1500-2400 m). SUB MONTANA is a forest that has a very high diversity of species with the dominance of Rasamala (Altingia excelsa), Puspa (Schima walichii), and pairs (Quercus sp), with various epiphytes such as orchids and climbing plants. Whereas in Montana is dominated by jamuju (Podocarpus imbricatus), kiputri (Podocarpus neriifolius), with a few species of underbrush. In this region there are about 75 species of orchids which among them is a rare type of Bulbophylum binnendkii, Bulbophylum angustifolium, Coelogyne correa, Cymbidium sundaicum and Dendrobium raciborsckii. more search required …? |
