Topology&Geology |
Soil type Regosol gray and Litosol parent material intermediate volcanic ash.
The condition of the waters of the Moyo Island Sea has a sloping water base. Shallow waters are generally overgrown with coral colonies with varying patterns of distribution between clusters and patchy corals and are the habitat for various coral biota. In addition, the section between the empty coral colonies is a slightly rocky sandy substrate. The water conditions are generally clear and especially the shallow end of sunlight penetration can reach the bottom of the waters, thus allowing the growth of various marine biota into fertile ground. The current pattern seems to tend to be influenced by the surrounding sea conditions such as weather, wave height and tides. In addition, in the southern part of the island moyo ocean currents are generally relatively rapid considering the area is a strait between Moyo Island and the mainland of Sumbawa Island. |
