Maubesi mangrove forest area of ± 1.830 hectare located at Belu Level II Blood, the First Level Region of East Nusa Tenggara is designated as forest area with Nature Reserve function through Decree of Minister of Agriculture Number 394 / Kpts / Um / 5/1981 dated May 7, 1981 with name of Maubesi Mangrove Forest Reserve.
Maubesi Mangrove Forest Sanctuary has been carried out the boundary arrangement in the field and handled the Minutes of the Boundary on 30 May 1983 and it is known that the extent is 3,246 Hectares which furthermore the Minutes of the border arrangement was ratified on 29 February 1984.
Subsequently stipulated by the Minister of Forestry Decree number: 887 / Menhut-II / 2009, dated 16 October 2009 with an area of 3,246 hectares.

Various types of mangrove forest flora that grows in this region is dominated by species of mangroves (Rhizophora sp), fires (Avicenia marina), nyiri (Xylocarpus granatum), and other types of flora such as kesambi (Schleichera oleosa), gewang ( Corypha gebanga), lontar (Borrasus flabelifer), blind (Excoelcasia sp), and ketapang (Terminalia catappa).
