Note | Stipulated as Nature Reserve based on Besluit Governor No. 15 stbl 24, dated October 1, 1933 with an area of 270.50 Ha. Then based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture no. 478 / Kpts / Um / 8/1979, dated August 2, 1979, part of the area of 27.5 Ha was transferred its status as Nature Park. Harau Valley Nature Reserve itself, has an area of about 270.5 hectares consisting of 3 areas, namely Sarasah Aka Barayun, Sarasah Bunta and Rimbo Piobang. Most unique again, the area is limited by hills with steep cliffs, there are 5 waterfalls that flow from a height of up to 100 meters from the top of the hill that surrounds the area. |

Topography The Harau Valley Nature Reserve is hilly and bumpy with an altitude of 500 to 850 meters above sea level (the hills are named Bukit Air Putih, Bukit Jambu, Bukit Singkarak and Bukit Tarantang). Harau valley is a huge chasm with a diameter of 400 m. The towering granite cliffs with their unique shape surround the valley. |
