Note | Based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry No. 85 / Kpts-II / 1990, dated February 26, 1990, Krakatau Islands is designated as Krakatau Islands Marine Reserve with an area of 13,735.1 ha (11,200 sea and 2,535.1 ha of land) managed by BKSDA II Tanjungkarang.
Previously since 1919, Sertung Island, Krakatau Besar and Krakatau Kecil have also been designated as nature reserves based on the decree of the Governor General of the Netherlands. 83 Stbl 392, dated July 11, 1919 Jo No 7 Stbl 392, dated January 5, 1925. This area has an appeal to scientists because this area can serve as a natural laboratory to study natural knowledge, geography, volcanology, and biology. Identification | There is a unique collection of flora consisting of 206 species of mushroom, 13 species of lichenes, 61 nail plants, and about 257 species of spermatophyta ..
Some of these plants are dominated by coastal plants such as Cemara, Ketapang, Waru, Pandan, Pinus, Laban, Noni and other plants that can adapt to the condition of coastal forests whose soil structure is sand. On the island of Sertung, there are many species of timber (Chriscocheton mierecorpus), ketapang (Terminalia catapra), mara (Macaranga fanarius), cypress (Casuarina aquisetifolia), melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) and dadap (Ficus ampelas). On the island of Krakatau Besar there are refineries, firs, dadap, ketapang, waru, mara, bisoro (Ficus hispida), and cangkudu (Morindo catrifalia). While in Krakatau Kecil is overgrown with kilangir, waru, dadap, and mara. More search required …? |
