Note | n 1980 before becoming a national park, this Wildlife Sanctuary was established to protect the Komodo dragon and its habitat. There are 277 species of animals that are a mix of animals originating from Asia and Australia, which consists of 32 species of mammals, 128 species of birds, and 37 species of reptiles. Together with the Komodo dragon, at least 25 species of terrestrial animals and birds including protected animals, due to their limited or limited number of spreading. In addition, in this region there are also coral reefs. There are at least 253 species of coral reefs found there, with about 1,000 species of fish. Identification | 1. Grassland and Savana Forest; There are grasslands and savanna forests covering approximately 70% of the Komodo national park area. Growing various types of grass include; Setaria adhaerens, Chloris barbata, Heteropogon contortus, Themeda gigantea and Themeda gradiosa interspersed by lontar trees (Borassus flobellifer) which is a distinctive plant. 2. Tropical Forest Season (below 500 m asl); Approximately 25% of the Komodo area is a tropical forest with seasonal species, including kesambi (Schleichera oleosa), asem (Tamarindus indica), kepuh (Sterculia foetida), and several other plant species. 3.
