Note | Kolbu River area designated as a nature reserve through the Decree of the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies. 83 Stbl. 1919 No. 392 dated 11 July 1919 with an area of 18.8 ha. The Kolbu River Nature Reserve is located within the ‘Yang Orang Highland Nature Reserve’, precisely in the Sikasur savannah area. |

Identification | 1. Forest Ecosystem Cypress; This type is located at an altitude of 2000 – 3000 m above sea level and is dominated by pine forest vegetation (Casuarina junghuhniana), so called Coniver Forest because it is dominated by needle leaf trees. Pine forests are secondary forests that have reached a climax and are able to grow naturally in areas of volcanic ash, landslides, rocky slopes and sandy ravines. On the lower floor is covered by mountain herbs, among others Euphorbia javanica, Poligonum chinense, Pteridium and Elsholzia pubescens. 2. Savana ecosystem; Savana ecosystems are the result of continuous forest destruction due to fires. This ecosystem is located in the large square of Sikasur.
