Note | In 1997 re-done restructuring and reconstruction of boundaries in the area of nature reserve East Coast Mangrove Forest, from the activity is known the area of about 4,126.6 ha. In the framework of the inauguration of the area, in 2003 the government established a 4,126.6 hectares area of the East Coast Mangrove Forest Reserve through the Decree of the Minister of Forestry no. 14 / Kpts-11/2003 on January 7, 2003. Ecologically, this nature reserve is a natural habitat of several species of crocodiles and other wild animals. |

Topology&Geology |
Like the mangrove ecosystem in general, the topographic condition of the East Coast Mangrove Forest Reserve area is generally flat with slopes below 10%. Has alluvium soil in the form of clay. This area has a tidal area with a depth of 1-2 meters. Behind the mangrove forest is a transition area of freshwater swamp with peat that is more than 2 meters deep. |
