Note | Nature Reserve / Nature Tourism Park Bukit Tangkiling is a conservation area appointed based on the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 046 / Kpts / Um / 1/1977, dated January 25, 1977 with the total area of Bukit Tangkiling Nature Reserve is 2,061 ha while the area of Taman Wisata Alam Bukit Tangkiling is 533 ha. The management of the Tangkiling Hill Conservation Area is implemented by the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Forestry, namely the Conservation Section of Region I of Palangka Raya at the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) of Central Kalimantan. Conservation Area of Sapat Hawung Nature Reserve includes B1 agroclimate zone with wet month number of 11 months / year and dry month number 1 month / year. |

Topology&Geology |
The topography of Bukit Tangkiling Nature Reserve ranges from low-lying slopes, bumpy to hilly with 2 – 45% slopes. There are five hills in this area, namely: Bukit Tangkiling, Bukit Baranahu, Bukit Liau, Bukit Buhis, and Bukit Batu / Tunggal. The soil type in this region is dominated by the yellowish brownish lithosols that are rarely encountered around Palangkaraya and some of them are quartz sandy soils. Geologically this area is described as composed of Kwarter and Upper Meaters. |
