Note | Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park is a combination of Bukit Baka Nature Reserve in West Kalimantan Province and Bukit Raya Nature Reserve in Central Kalimantan Province. The designation of this Area has undergone several changes. In 1978 the Bukit Raya area was designated as a Nature Reserve with an area of 50,000 Ha, namely by Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 409 / Kpts / Um / 6/1978 dated June 6, 1978 on the Appointment of Bukit Raya Area as Nature Reserve has been allocated an area of ± 50,000 Ha. In 1979 the area was expanded to 110,000 ha, with the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 781 / Kpts / Um / 12/1979 dated December 17, 1979 on the Appointment of Bukit Raya Forest Area in the Second Level Region of Kasongan, Central Kalimantan I Region was set again an area of ± 60,000 Ha as nature reserve, so that the area of Bukit Raya Nature Reserve is increased from 50,000 Ha to 110,000 Ha. In 1981, Bukit Baka area was designated as Nature Reserve area of 110,000 Ha, by Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 1050 / Kpts / Um / 12/1981 dated December 24, 1981 on Appointment of Serawai Forest Complex and Supporting Area of ± 100,000 Ha located in the Level Region II Sintang, Region I West Kalimantan. In 1982 the area of Bukit Baka Nature Reserve increased to 116,063 Ha. In 1992, Bukit Baka Nature Reserve and Bukit Raya Nature Reserve through the Decree of the Minister of Forestry Number: 281 / Kpts-II / 1992, dated February 26, 1992 to an area of 181,090 Ha. |

Identification | Noted 817 species of plants are included in the 139 families including Dipterocarpaceae, Myrtaceae, Sapotaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae, and Ericadeae. There is a flower raflesia (Rafllesia sp.) Which is the largest parasite flower and also grows in Mount Kinibalu Malaysia. Endemic plants include Symplocos rayae, Gluta sabahana, Dillenia beccariana, Lithocarpus coopertus, Selaginnella magnifica, and Tetracera glaberrima. Another feature of the Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya national park is the abundance of species from the Symplocaceae tribes such as Symplocos adenophylla, Symplocos crassipis, Symplocos laeteviridis, Symplocos rayae and Symplocos rubiginosa. more search required …? |
